Kullabergs Naturreservat

Aim

The countryside of Skåne affords a unique natural habitat that should be preserved and protected for the generations to come. In Skåne there are more than 150 nature reserves and three national parks administered by the County Administrative Board.

In Skåne, the environment is exposed to considerable pressure. The environment is affected by both local and regional activities and, to a great extent, by pollution coming in from the European mainland. The county has a rich natural and cultural environment with large stretches of countryside that are perfect for recreation and tourism.

Backed by the Environmental Code, the County Administrative Board and local authorities cooperate in setting up nature reserves in areas considered to be in need of special protection or conservation. The aim is to protect and preserve biological diversity and valuable natural environments. This may even entail the complete restoration of a given environment with a view to protecting certain vulnerable species. Some areas may also be protected because they are considered important for outdoor recreation and relaxation.
